New Delhi: Actor Vijay Deverakonda has released a new statement, clarifying his controversial statement about the tribal community during the ‘Retro’ audio launch. This happened after his remarks condemned the Pahalgam attack at a program in Hyderabad, after which a formal complaint has been filed against the actor under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act. Since the actor was trolled on social media through his statement and now Vijay Devarakonda has issued a new statement.
Devarakonda said, no one intended to hurt anyone
He wrote, ‘It has come to my attention that a comments made by me during the retro audio launch program became a matter of concern among some members of the public. I want to clarify honestly, that I had no intention of hurting or targeting any community, especially our Scheduled Tribes, which I respectfully respect and consider them to be an integral part of our country. Subsequently, Devarakonda said that he never intended to hurt anyone and he was talking about ‘unity in India’ and people being one. He clarified, ‘I was speaking about unity, how India is one, our people are one, and how we should move together. In which world I will deliberately discriminate against any group of Indians, while appealing to remain united as a country, I see all of whom I see as my family, like my brothers. ‘

He said, the word ‘tribe’, as I used it, was in the historical and dictionary sense, as the human society was globally organized in tribes and clans when the human society was organized globally. He said, “It was not a reference to the classification of Scheduled Tribes, which was introduced during colonial and post-colonial India and it was formally given only in the middle of the 20th century, not even 100 years ago.”

According to Telangana Today, Hyderabad lawyer Lal Chauhan has registered a case based on the reaction made by Vijay at Surya’s pre-release event. According to the report, a complaint was lodged at SR Nagar Police Station on Thursday, alleging that during his speech on the Pahalgam terror attack, the ‘Geeta Govindam’ actor compared the incident to the centuries -old struggles between tribal communities.
