Nowadays, making makeup is not only a habit, but a need has become a need. Office -going women, college students or girls joining social events, almost everyone uses lipstick, kajal, eyeshadow and foundation. Many people do not feel confident without makeup. But have you ever thought that this makeup used daily can harm your health gradually? A recent study conducted in Britain has revealed that more use of makeup products can lead to a serious breath problem like asthma. That is, the one who is being adopted daily for beauty can become an enemy of breath.

In this study, scientists did research on around 40,000 people, which found that women who regularly use makeup products such as lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara, fake nails, blush or cutical creams are up to 47 percent of the risk of asthma. Indeed, these cosmetics contain many types of preservatives, hormone-distilbing chemicals and heavy metals that affect our skin, breath and hormonal system. Prolonged use of these substances can accumulate toxic elements inside the body, which make the immune system weak and can cause inflammation in the respiratory tract.

Talking about India, the figures of respiratory diseases are not less shocking here too. In the year 2023, about 5.5 million people in the country were affected by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and about 3.5 crore people were affected by asthma. The special thing is that the risk of asthma in women has been found more than men. Health experts believe that chemicals used in cheap and local makeup products go inside the body from the breath, which can lead to problems like allergies and asthma. Doctor Rishi says that chip makeup contains many types of metals and chemicals, which prove to be very harmful for the body when breathing.

Health expert Sameer Bhati says that some chemicals present in makeup also disturb the body’s hormonal system, which not only affect the respiratory system, but also increases the cases of skin allergies and infections. He advised that we should read the label carefully before purchasing any product and check what are the chemicals in it. If the skin is sensitive or already has an allergy problem, then it is better to avoid such chemicals. Also, makeup brush, sponge and hygiene of beauty blenders should also be taken care of so that the risk of infection can be reduced.
