Under-19 Asian Boxing: 5 Indian boxers in semi-finals

At the Under-19 Asian Boxing Championships in Thailand, 5 Indian Mains boxers reached the semi-finals. Shivam, Mausam Suhag, Rahul Kundu, Gaurav and Hemant Sangwan registered a stunning victory.

Bangkok. At the ongoing Under-19 Asian Boxing Championships in Thailand, 5 Indian Mains boxers have reached the semi-finals on Thursday by registering a stunning victory in their respective sections. Earlier, seven Indian women boxers have already made it to the semi -finals.

Shivam (55 kg), weather Suhag (65 kg), Rahul Kundu (75 kg), Gaurav (85 kg) and Hemant Sangwan (90 kg) defeated their rivals in a brilliant manner to ensure that India would return by winning 12 medals in the Under-19 category. Under-19 and Under-22 Asian Boxing Championships are being held simultaneously.

In the Under-22 category, there are 13 medals in India, in which five boxers will compete for the gold medal. Shivam started India’s victory by defeating Abdniz Abdunazrov of Uzbekistan 5–0 in the morning session. After this, the weather Suhag maintained his restraint and won by defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Muhammad Alimbekov 3: 2 in the 65kg quarter -finals.

Rahul Kundu performed strongly against South Korea’s Yunjo Jyong and the referee eventually had to stop the 75 kg match. Gaurav made a tough competition to Kuang-Yao Cheng of Chinese Taipei in the 85 kg category. Hemant Sangwan defeated Muhammadarizo Siddikov of Uzbekistan in the 90 kg weight category.
