U20 World Championships 2025 Wrestling: India’s five Greco Roman wrestlers are out of the medal race. Sumit won a silver medal in men’s free style at the Under-20 World Championship.

Anil Mor made the only chance of medal for India on Saturday but he lost 7-10 against Japan’s Disuke Morishita in the 55 kg weight class bronze medal match. With this, India’s campaign in the championship ended. The women’s team finished second with seven medals, while the men’s freestyle team also disappointed. Sumit Malik (silver medal in the 57 kg weight category) was the only wrestler to win a medal.
Aman defeated Noki Kadodes of Japan 7–0 in 77 kg but lost on the basis of technical superiority in the last eight phases against Kiril Walewasi. Repchang’s doors were closed for Aman by defeating Valuski in the semi -finals. Rohit gave a tough competition to Gabriel Eduardo Stan of Romania in the 87 kg weight category, but lost 4-6 in the qualification round. Stan later lost in the pre-quarterfinals, ending the Indian player’s campaign.
Uttam Rana made a brilliant debut against Dononicios Zaugris of Greece in the 130 kg heavyweight category and was achieved. Rana was then defeated by Ivan Yankowski of Ukraine on the basis of technical superiority in the quarter -finals. If Yankovski reaches the finals, then the way for Rana to claim a bronze medal via the repechage may open.
