Highlights

  • The call recording feature on iOS is going to be closed.
  • Truecaller is a popular collar id and spam detection app.
  • The main reason for this is Apple’s own call recording system.
TruColor has introduced an important update for iPhone users. Truecaller has officially announced that it is going to close the call recording feature on iOS (iPhone) since 30 September 2025. This decision has come when the company started this facility on the iOS platform two years ago.

Truecaller is a popular collar id and spam detection app that millions of users are used worldwide. However, implementing the call recording feature on iPhone has been a challenge since the beginning for Truecaller. The call recording processor in Apple’s iOS is also more difficult and limited than Android, as Apple’s privacy policy is quite strict and does not allow the third-party apps to record the call directly.

Truecaller’s iOS head, Nakula Kabra, said in a conversation with Techcrunch that the company now wants to focus on its original features, such as live collar id and automatic spam blocking. This is the real strength of Truecaller, and the company is now focusing on improving these services.

The removal of call recording feature on iPhone does not mean that the old recording of users will be deleted. The company has given the option to users that they can download their recording, share them through email, WhatsApp or other apps, or can store them in iCloud. To make this transition easier, Truecaller has also launched a support page.
