One such plant is banyan, it is very useful in Ayurveda and traditional medicine. 75 -year -old grandmother Madani Devi told Local 18 that in the olden times, the leaves, roots, bark and milk (latex) of this tree were used to treat many diseases.

Relaxes from tooth and joint pain
He told that in the olden times, when medicines were less, many diseases were treated with the use of this plant. When someone had pain in toothache, the banyan milk (latex) was applied to the tooth with pain, which provided relief in pain.

Still Ayurvedic doctors recommend adopting this method in treating toothache. Apart from this, juice or paste of banyan leaves was applied for ringworm, itching and wound healing. At the same time, in joint pain, banyan milk was mixed with mustard oil and massaged.

Benefits of banyan in Ayurveda
Ayurvedic doctor Pintu Bharti told Local 18 that Banyan balances Vata and Kapha Dosha. Its bark has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which help in fighting infections. Apart from this, the juice of banyan leaves is also considered useful in diabetes control.

He said that the paste made by grinding banyan leaves helps in reducing inflammation and irritation. Banyan leaves are not less than any panacea in diseases. Heat these leaves and tie it on a painful place reduces inflammation. Apart from this, drinking the juice of banyan leaves kills stomach worms and strengthens the digestive system.

Religion expert Chandraprakash Dhandhan said that the banyan tree is considered extremely sacred in Hinduism. It is called ‘Akshaya tree’ or ‘Kalpavriksha’. According to mythological beliefs, Lord Vishnu resides in this tree. In Vat Savitri fast, women worship it and wish for the longevity of the husband. Banyan is also important in Buddhism, because Lord Buddha attained knowledge under it. Its branches are considered a symbol of infinity, so it is given a special place in religious rituals.
