West Champaran. The dilapidated Maharaja Stadium located in Meena Bazaar in Bettiah is going to get a very new form. In the meeting of Bihar Council of Bihar, an amount of Rs 53 crore 99 lakh 8 thousand has been approved for reconstruction and expansion of the stadium. In this regard, Bettiah Mayor Garima Devi Sikaria said that this stadium owned by the Municipal Corporation will be rebuilt with modern facilities.
CM announced during Pragati Yatra
In fact, while starting his Pragati Yatra from West Champaran district, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the stadium on 23 December. During the inspection, he announced the reconstruction and expansion of the stadium. After which on his instructions, Muzaffarpur Division of Bihar Building Construction Corporation was entrusted with the responsibility of preparing the DPR. On the instructions of District Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Rai, Mayor Garima Devi Sikaria along with District Sports Officer and Municipal Commissioner conducted a terrestrial inspection of the proposed expansion scheme.
Six -lane synthetic track
Explain that in the construction of the new stadium, a six -lane synthetic athletics track and natural football ground are to be built. Apart from this, facilities of lawn tennis courts, two common rooms, pavers area, boundaries, two security watchdogs and modern toilets will also be provided facilities with large space changing rooms. About 80 meters from the south direction of the stadium will also be included for the construction of this stadium proposed in a size of about 200/140 meters.
