The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has advised millions of mobile users across the country to be careful with fraudsters, who are trying to cheat people by becoming representatives of SIM card services. This warning has been given through the official X account of DOT. The department has requested the users to report any suspicious calls or messages. It is especially necessary to be careful with SIM swap fraud, because recently many users have complained to the Department of Telecommunications to receive unwanted calls to close the SIM card.
Dot has clarified that the Department of Telecommunications does not send calls or messages to users to close the SIM card. People have been advised to ignore such calls or messages. In addition, it is necessary to be careful with KYC information or also with suspicious link messages or emails.
