Actually, the actress who plays Ariel in the film is Hale Bailey, who is Black. However, Hale is also an American singer and song writer. But people are criticizing its director Rob Marshal and Disney to cast a black in the film. Rob has reacted to these criticisms and presented his clarification on Ariel’s casting.
Director Rob Marshel has revealed about the casting of Ariel and said that when it came to the casting of Ariel, he had no such agenda. According to the variety of Variety, the director told Entertainment Weekly that his team did not adopt any ‘misconception’ in this film about any artist and other casting.
