Holi in World Para Athletics
New Delhi: One of the official partners of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix, ‘Self’ played an important role in the Grand Prix held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi from 8 to 13 March. More than 350 para athletes from more than 20 countries participated in this event.
During the event, himself also held a special party of Holi, in which para athletes from different countries experienced Indian culture and participated in the Holi festival.
Emphasizing the importance of accession at sports sites, Sminu Jindal, the founder-president of his own, said, ‘People have the power to unite in sports and no one should be denied due to physical obstacles. He further said that by giving priority to accessibility, an inclusive place can be made, where everyone can participate in the spirit of sports.
The General Secretary of the Indian Paralympic Committee (PCI), Jaywant Gundu Hamanwar appreciated the PCI’s cooperation with himself, describing it as an important step in making the sports scenario more inclusive.
The Tokyo Paralympics 2021 and Paris Paralympic 2024 have a rich history to promote their own game with contribution to major sports competitions. The organization has also worked with the 5th Indian Open Para-Athletic International Championship, Regional Sports Training (2023) in Bangalore, and the Indian Divyang Cricket Council (DCCI) since 2020.
