Purnia 42nd Football Championship: The 42nd football championship will begin from 1 August 2025 at Lake Tola ground in Purnia. The winning team will get a reward of ₹ 61000 and the runner -up team will get a reward of ₹ 41000. 16 teams will participate.

The aim of the 42nd Football Championship Mahakumbh is to increase the interest of tribal students and youth in sports and contribute to the national interest. Also, Lake Tola Maidan in Purnia is known as footballer’s village. So far, many players here have played up to the national level.
The 42nd football championship Mahakumbh will be organized from tomorrow i.e. August 1 at Lake Tola Maidan Baghmara, called the village of the footballer. A total of 16 teams from the country and abroad will participate in this football championship. The match will start from 1 August and end with the final match on 15 August Independence Day. In this sports competition, the winning team will be given a cash prize and trophy of ₹ 61000 by Purnia Division Tribal Students and Yuva Samiti Purnia. While the runner -up team will be given ₹ 41000 more trophy.
Purnia divisional tribal students of Football Mahakumbh and concerned members, including Virendra Oraon, Shubham Anand, Vikram Tirkey, President of Yuva Samiti Purnia, say that Football Mahakumbh is organized every year to encourage the youth of the tribal community to the game. He informed that a total of 16 teams will participate in this football championship, in which players from different states and districts including Nepal, Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand will participate in this football championship.
