Teak Leaves for Laser Eye Protection | Teak leaves protection from laser rays of the eyes

Last updated:

Researchers in Bangalore have got protection protection from laser radiation in extracts extracted from teak leaves. It can help protect the natural and biodegradable extracts eyes and optical devices from laser.

These green leaves can protect the eyes from radiation! Their powder is very powerful

Teak leaves have the ability to absorb laser radiation.

Highlights

  • Anthocyanin present in teak leaves has the ability to absorb laser lights.
  • This extract can become an environmentally friendly option of synthetic and expensive substances.
  • These leaves can become a durable solution for laser safety goggles and equipment.
Eye is the most delicate part of our body. Eyes are very sensitive and even a little light affects the eyes. Laser radiation poses a lot of risk to the eyes and new technology is being discovered to protect the eyes from it. Scientists of Raman Research Institute (Rri), Bengaluru have made a new discovery regarding it. This research has claimed that extracts extracted from teak leaves can provide natural and biodegradable protection from laser radiation with high intensity. This discovery can prove useful for the protection of human eyes and delicate optical devices, especially.

According to toi report Teak is also called Saugan. Teak leaves are thrown as agricultural waste, but they contain natural colors called anthocyanin, which are the cause of their red-brown. These elements can prove to be effective in the protection of the eyes. Researchers found that colors extracted from teak leaves have non-linier optical properties, of which reverse saturable absorption (RSA) is the most special. This means that as the intensity of the laser increases, these colors start absorbing more lights, which can protect them from the harmful rays of the laser.

During the study, the leaves of the teak were dried and made their powder, then soaked in various solvents and the color was purified with the help of ultrasonication and centrifugation. As a result, a red-brown liquid turned out to be tested with green laser light. Research found that when the power of the laser increases, this extract absorbs even more light. This study also shows that the color extracted from teak leaves can replace expensive and harmful synthetic substances for the environment such as graphine, fullness and metal nanoparticles.

The process of making synthetic substances is complex and harmful to the environment, while the extract of teak leaves is a natural, non -toxic and affordable option. According to this research, teak -based color can be used in devices such as optical limits, which protect the sensors and human eyes from sudden laser shaking. Later, more research will be done to increase the stability and commercial use of this color. This discovery can play an important role in the development of green optical technology.
