Taiwan Athletics 2025: India's great performance, travel with 6 gold medals ends

Jyoti Yarraji, Tejas Ashok Shise and Abdullah Abubkar won the gold medal at the 2025 Taiwan Athletics Open, in which India dominated the track and won six gold medals at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze Meet held on Saturday in Taipei. Pooja in women’s 1500 meter race and women’s 4 × 100 meter relay in Sudiksha Vudaluri, Sneha Satyanarayana Shanuvalli, Abinaya Rajarajan and Nitya Gandhe’s quartet won the other two gold medals for India. Gurinderveer Singh, Anmesh Kujur, Manikant Hobelidhar and Amalan Borgohen also won the gold medal in the 4 × 100m relay team of Indian men.

Jyoti, who broke the national record of 12.96 seconds in the women’s 100 meter hurdles at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea last month, once again completed the race in less than 13 seconds. He won between eight players in 12.99 seconds. Jyoti started well, made a quick lead and won the race with strong finish. Japan’s Asuka Tarada won the silver medal in 13.04 seconds, while his partner Chisato Kiyyama won the bronze medal in 12.10 seconds. In the men’s 110 meter hurdles, Tejas Shise won the Goldmall in 13.52 seconds, which had a tailwind of +1.5. Yuan Kai Hasih of Taiwan finished second in 13.72 seconds. In the men’s triple jump, Abubakar got the first place by jumping 16.21 meters in the third attempt. He first jumped 15.80 meters and then 15.97 meters in the second. In the fourth jump, he fouled and then jumped 15.33 and 15.81 meters respectively in the fifth and sixth jump. Taiwan’s Li Yun-Chain and Zhou Zheng Jia finished third.

Pooja won the women’s 1500 meter race by making a competition record (CR) of 4: 11.63, which was better than the old record 4: 15.81. PR Korea’s John Su Gyong finished second in 4: 28.03, while Hiyu Tung Tsang of Hong Kong finished third in 4: 34.92. Indian women’s 4 × 100m relay team won the Goldmall by making a 44.07 second competition record (CR), which was better than the old record of 44.50 seconds. The men’s 4 × 100 meter relay team completed the race in 38.75 seconds and won the sixth goldmedal for India.
