Terrorist Tahawwur Rana was brought to India on April 10 from the Special Plane after extradition from the US.
A Delhi court has allowed the NIA to take the Voice and Handwriting sample of Tahwwur Rana, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. NIA Special Court Judge Chandrajit Singh gave this decision.
Rana was brought to India by special plane on 10 April after extradition from the US. A team of NIA went to bring him. The extradition was under the Top-Sect Mission ‘Operation Rana’.
After bringing India, he was produced in Patiala House Court in Delhi on 10 April. He was then sent to the custody of NIA. On 30 April, the court extended the custody till May 12.
Rana was arrested by the US agency FBI in October 2009 in Chicago. He was accused of providing necessary goods to carry out the terrorist attack in 26/11 in Mumbai and Copenhagen.
On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists attacked the railway station, two hotels and a Jewish center after entering Mumbai by sea route. 166 people were killed in an attack for about 60 hours.

He reached America from Canada and opened a consultancy firm called First World Immigration Services on several locations including Chicago. According to US court documents, Rana also visited Canada, Pakistan, Germany and England several times. He can speak about 7 languages.

Rana is a childhood friend of David Headley, mastermind of Mumbai attack David Headley was the mastermind of the Mumbai attack. Tehwavur was his childhood friend, who helped him to carry out the attack. Rana knew that Headley was working closely with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Rana was supporting the terrorist organization and terrorists by helping Headley and providing financial help to him.
Rana was aware of whom Headley is getting, what is talking. He also knew the names of the attack and some targets. Tehwavur Rana was arrested by FBI in 2009. Rana was convicted for supporting Lashkar-e-Taiba in America. Till now he was closed at a detention center in Los Angeles.
On 26 November 2008, 10 terrorists of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out attacks in Mumbai. These attacks lasted for four days. A total of 175 people were killed in these attacks, including 9 attackers and more than 300 people were injured.
