The court gave the verdict and said- Digital access is the constitutional need of every citizen.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday (April 30) directed the Central Government to make the Digital KYC (EKYC) process completely easier for the disabled.
The bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan, while giving the verdict, said that the right to digital access is the right to life under Section-21 of the Constitution.
The court gave this decision while hearing the PIL filed by the acid victim and people with blind or weak eye.
In the 62 -page decision, the court talked about abolishing digital divide. The court said that this is a constitutional need, so that every person can get a life of equal participation.

The main things of the court’s decision…
- All government and private institutions have to follow the set standards of digital accessability.
- A nodal officer will be appointed in every department who will monitor digital access.
- The website and app will also require participation of blind users during develop or update.
- All institutions will have to conduct accessibility audit from time to time.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been instructed to provide alternative and inclusive methods to check ‘Liveness’ in Digital KYC. (Like blind blind eye is not possible for people)
- The KYC template and form should be designed in such a way that the type and percentage of the customer’s disability can be filled in it.

step 1: First of all visit the nearest branch of the concerned bank or financial institution.
Step 2: Take the KYC form there and fill the Aadhaar card, PAN card details in it.
Step 3: After this your information will be verified by the bank.
Step 4: KYC will be updated if all the information is correct. You will get this information through SMS or email.

step 1: Login on the official website or app of your bank or financial institution.
Step 2: After this, click on the ‘KYC update’ section.
Step 3: Upload Aadhaar, PAN or other important documents.
Step 4: After this, verify the OTP on the mobile number.
Step 5: Verification will be found by SMS or email when KYC is updated.
