A bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Arvind Kumar, while giving the verdict, said that it is the misuse of the judicial process to advance criminal proceedings in this case. Lakshya Sen and his family were accused of manipulating the birth certificate and showing their age less, which gave him the benefit of playing in junior badminton tournaments. On this basis, the Uttarakhand Police had registered an FIR, which included the name of Lakshya’s father, brother and his coach. According to the allegations, it was done to promote the career of the alleged manipulation target, which is against the fairness of sports policy and competition.
