Sunita williams and kalpna chawla: Indian -origin NASA astronaut Sunita Williams returned on 19 March 2025 after 9 months. All members of crew-9 are safe. However, there was a time during the landing, when the breath of the world had stopped for a few moments. At this time of 7 minutes, India’s lioness Kalpana Chawla began to remember. In fact, when the dragon capsules were entering the Earth’s atmosphere from the space, it missed contact for about 7 minutes and then the glimpses of the incident with Kalpana Chawla came out after touching everyone’s mind, when the hearts of crores of Indians were cried after seeing the scene of the sky.
When Sunita Williams entered the Earth’s atmosphere to land, every Indian had only one prayer and one heaven blessing from the heart, that what happened to Kalpana Chawla should not happen again. At the same time, when Sunita landed on the earth safely, there was a thought in the mind that I wish Kalpana Chawla’s vehicle would have landed at that time. If this could have happened, then that daughter of a glorious India would have been on the horizon even today.
Kalpana Chawla’s last mission became that mission of NASA
The story is about 22 years old, when Kalpana Chawla of Haryana, India was on STS-107, a space mission in NASA. Kalpana Chawla was returning to Earth from Columbia Spacecraft on 1 February 2003 after spending 16 days in space. Kalpana Chawla and her crew lost their lives in a horrific accident due to technical fault in spacecraft during the return.
Kalpana Chawla touched death just 16 minutes before landing
Surprisingly, the Columbia Spacecraft had come into the Earth’s atmosphere from the space. And was only 16 minutes away from landing on Earth, but then Haryana’s daughter Kalpana Chawla went into death due to the problem in the spacecraft. It is said that there was some problem in the left wing of the spacecraft, due to which seven astronauts died. Seeing this scene of death in the sky, the hearts of all Indians cried.
Due to the hole in the left wing of the spacecraft, the gases outside started filling the spacecraft rapidly. The sensor stopped working due to the gas filling. And thus Kalpana Chawla’s hope of returning remained incomplete.
