Mohammad Azharuddin gave his opinion about police action and said:
This is going to disturb… I am very upset with the ongoing corruption and ticket scam in Hyderabad Cricket Association. The game is always bigger than those who play or run it. He has done nothing for cricket. This committee was not behaving as the authorities should do. Even the court orders were not respecting. Last year, he was selecting sites without holding the league match. It is shameful…
The Telangana CID (July 9) was detained by the Hyderabad Cricket Association President Jagan Mohan Rao and three other officials during the IPL 2025 on charges of ticket scam.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team had alleged that on March 27, Jagan Mohan Rao forcibly stopped a corporate box and demanded 20 additional passes from the team. This was a violation of the tripartite agreement between HCA, franchise and BCCI, according to which the Sangh gets 4000 complementary tickets.
Kavya Maran complained
Telangana CID took this action on the complaint of Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise, stating that Hyderabad Cricket Association continuously threatens free tickets and passes. Help was sought from the BCCI and IPL Governing Council to stop this ‘blackmailing’. Later, taking action on these allegations, the Telangana government ordered a vigilance inquiry and CID registered an FIR after investigation.
