In his first term from 2009 to 2014, CM Omar held cabinet meetings in Gurez, Machil, Tangdhar and Rajouri and Poonch sectors of North Kashmir.
There will be a special cabinet meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first time that during this tenure of Omar Sarkar, the cabinet meeting will be outside the summer capital Srinagar or the winter capital Jammu.
The agenda of the meeting has not been made public yet. Officials said that the government has decided to hold a cabinet meeting here to show solidarity with the people of Pahalgam. The Omar government will give a strong message against terrorism and tell that there is no place for violence in the state.
The number of tourists has come down drastically since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. On May 24, CM Omar proposed a double approach to bring the tourism sector back on track. He had requested the Center to direct government companies and parliamentary committee meetings in Kashmir.
CM Omar Abdullah held cabinet meetings in remote areas such as Gurez, Machil, Tangdhar and Rajouri and Poonch sectors of North Kashmir during his first term as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir from 2009 to 2014.

A special session of one day was called on 28 April regarding the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government called a special assembly session on 28 April. It unanimously passed a resolution against the Pahalgam attack. The proposal said that such terrorist attacks are a direct attack on ‘Kashmiriyat’, unity, peace and goodwill of the country.
The Chief Minister also gave a 26 -minute emotional speech in the assembly. He had said- The security of Jammu and Kashmir is not the responsibility of the elected rule of the people, but I called them as CM and Tourism Minister. The Center launched Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam attack To avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India had an airplane at Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan on 7 May. The army killed 100 terrorists.
