Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been made the new president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. This is his return to administration again after his BCCI chief.

Ganguly said, “I want to thank everyone for support. There is no opposition in Cab, everyone is part of this association. We all will work together to take Cab and Bengal cricket forward. There are important events – India’s Test match against South Africa at Eden Gardens, T20 World Cup, T20 League. I will try my best.”

Former Indian captain, who filed his nomination on Sunday, was elected without any opposition. His elder brother will take over from Snehashish. This will not be a new area for him – Ganguly has been the president of CAB from 2015 to 2019, after which he left the post to take over the BCCI.
Sourav Ganguly’s tenure in Sa20
Last month, Ganguly joined the SA20 franchise Pretoria Capitals for the upcoming season, replacing Jonathan Trot. Pretoria has seen mixed results in the SA20 so far, in the opening season, Sunrisers lost against the Eastern Cape in the final while topping the group stage. In the next two seasons (2023–24 and 2024–25), Pritoria performed average, fining on both occasions, finishing fifth, made a place in the playoffs.
