New Delhi. Before the decisive match of the 5 -match Test series against England, there was a debate between Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir and Pitch Curator Lee Fortis. He told Team India’s support staff and Gambhir to stay away from the pitch, which wrongly spoke. The coach got angry and he told the pitch curator. On this matter, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly said that Gambhir did not need to do so.

Sourav Ganguly has advised the team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and Oval Stadium’s pitch curator Lee Fortis to ignore the controversy. He said that this incident should not be given too much because such incidents have happened before and will continue to happen. Ganguly was speaking at an event in Kolkata.

Before the fifth Test, Gambhir had a dispute with Lee and was not allowed to inspect the pitch. When Gambhir moved from there, he picked up his finger and said a few words. India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak was seen taking Lee away and talking to him. Kotak and some members of Indian management were seen trying to explain the situation to an English officer. Gambhir raised his finger towards Curator Lee and said angrily, “You will not tell what we have to do. There is just a groundsman and be within your limits”

Talking about the controversy, Ganguly said, “I don’t know why Gambhir was angry. I am sure that all the captains and coaches have discussed with the groundsman. Sometimes with joy, sometimes with resentment. It happened in my time and will be in future too. We should not give it much.
