Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly’s elder brother Snehashish Ganguly and his wife Arpita Ganguli survived Puri from drowning in the sea. On Saturday evening, the speed boat of both of them overturned near Light House.
The video of the incident was uploaded on social media on Monday. In this video of one minute 52 seconds, lifeguards are seen saving Snehashish and Arpita. The speed boat is reverse in the sea, while the lifeguards are trying to save all tourists. Authorities used rubber float to save them. Snehashish is also the President of the Bengal Cricket Association.
Arpita, sister-in-law of Sourav Ganguly, said-
We survived by the grace of God. I am still in shock. This should not happen and water sports activity in the sea should be done properly. After returning to Kolkata, I will write a letter to the Superintendent of Police of Puri and the Chief Minister of Odisha. Thankfully, our life was saved from the alertness of ‘Lifeguard’.

I did not see such high waves in my life: Arpita Arpita told- ‘As soon as we went inside, I never saw such a high waves in my life. The 10 floors were as high waves, because that boat was not heavy, if there were 10 people in it, it might not have turned into a balance. That overturned and the entire boat came over us. I could not even leave, diesel had fallen completely.
‘We do not even escape if these guards do not save us. Around 15-20 people came, one of them caught my leg. I am still in shock. ‘ Arpita started crying while stating this. An eyewitness to the incident said that the ‘speed boat’ lost the balance and overturned in the sea after being hit by a large wave.

Second marriage with Arpita last year Snehashish Ganguly had a second marriage to Arpita Chatterjee on July 21 last year. He is divorced with the first wife Mom.
