Sonu Nigam Controversy: Sonu Nigam got relief from the Karnataka High Court, the court has ordered not to take punitive action against them. The corporation had apologized on the Kannada dispute and has received instructions to cooperate in the investigation.

New Delhi. Sonu Nigam, a singer in trouble over the Kannada dispute, has got a big relief from the Karnataka High Court on Thursday. On the petition of the corporation, the court has ordered not to take punitive action against him. A bench headed by Justice Shivshankar Amarnavar heard the petition of Sonu Nigam. The court ordered the singer not to take any punitive action against him and cooperate in the investigation.
Sonu Nigam’s lawyer argued that he had never intended to insult the Kannada community and he had already apologized publicly. The government lawyer said that his comment was part of live broadcasting and received extensive coverage in the media, which requires legal action. He opposed giving legal protection to him due to his absence in the investigation.
It is noteworthy, Sonu Nigam petitioned the Karnataka High Court on 13 May to cancel the FIR lodged in the case. In fact, the Karnataka police registered an FIR on 3 May after a dispute over the comments of the corporation during an event on 25 April.
