Police said Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam reached Mavalkhiyat village on 22 May and hired the scooter to see the Living Route Bridge in Nongriyat village of Sohra police station area. Police said they stayed in a home stay for one night and checked out the next day to return to Mavalkhiat.
On May 24, his scooter was found unclaimed in a cafe on the roadside from Shillong to Sohra. Local police said that this place is near a ditch. The area also has a resort called Orsa, which is considered the base of criminals.
