It is believed that eating more sweet and wrong lifestyle causes diabetes disease. Now a recent study has revealed that more consumption of soda and fruit juice can also cause diabetes. Scientists have discovered a link between Shugri drinks and type 2 diabetes, which is extremely worrying.

Scientists at Brigham Young University in the US have claimed in a new study that intake of sugar-soda drinks like soda, fruit juice, energy drinks and sports drinks can increase the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D). This study found that the sugar present in these beverages directly affects the body’s metabolism system and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Researchers also stated that while additional sugar -rich beverages are dangerous, nutrition -rich foods such as whole fruits, dairy products and sugar present in whole grains do not affect the body. The fiber, fat, protein and other nutrients present in these foods gradually turn sugar into blood glucose, which keeps the blood sugar levels stable and does not put much pressure on the liver. Therefore, Shugari drinks should be avoided.

In the study, researchers analyzed data from more than half a million people, which found that daily intake of every 350 ml sugar-rich beverages (such as soft drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks) increases the risk of type 2 diabetes by 25 percent. This risk already starts with the first serving, that is, there is no minimum safe quantity.

Similarly, the risk of type 2 diabetes can increase by 5 percent by consuming every 250 ml fruit juice. The study’s chief researcher Karen Dela Corte said this is the first time that a clear dose-rest (dose-reaction) relationship between different sugar sources and type 2 diabetes has been shown. He says that taking sugar from beverages is more harmful for the body than fruits or other solid foods.

The research team concluded that sugar-rich beverages and sugar present in fruit juice directly affect the metabolic activity of the liver, which accumulates fat in the liver and increases insulin resistance. Therefore, this study suggests that strict monitoring and strict recommendations should be made on the intake of such liquid sugar so that metabolic health can be protected from damage.
