Singapore Open: Satvik-Chirag lost in the semi-finals, Aaron Chia of Malaysia, Soh Wui defeated

The Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty ended with a defeat against Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wui Yik in the semi -finals of the Double on Saturday in the Singapore Open Super 750 badminton tournament. The world’s former number one Indian pair failed to capitalize on the lead of the first game and lost the match that lasted for 64 minutes 21-19, 10-21, 18-21.

The pair of Satwik and Chirag performed tremendous patience and passion and saved seven matches points but it was not enough to save them from defeat. The pair of Satwik and Chirag stayed away from the game for a long time due to injuries and fitness problems causing the pair to slip in the world rankings at the 27th position. The Malaysian pair, which came to a quarter -finals on the journey of the Indian pair at the Paris Olympics, made a strong comeback after the debut started once again.

This was the third semi -final for the Indian pair this year. The pair had earlier reached the final four in the India Open and Malaysia Open.
