Shubman Gill first Indian captain to win double century in England
New Delhi. The new captain Shubman Gill was considered as difficult for the Indian cricket team to the Indian cricket team. After scoring a century in the first innings of the leadl Test, he hit a double century in the second Test. Gill to do so became the first captain of India. Earlier, no Indian captain had done this feat in England. During this innings, he also broke the record of the biggest test score from India. The reaction given in the commentary box after former captain Sunil Gavaskar left him behind was amazing.
Shubman Gill has a blast with the bat in England. He may be dismissed early after scoring a century in the first Test but did not miss a chance in the second match. After completing the century, a double century was made in the first innings of the Birmingham Test. Earlier, the biggest score of any Indian captain was 179 runs on England soil. In 1990, former captain Mohammad Ahjaruddin played this innings. Gill not only broke the captaincy record but also played the biggest Test innings for India in England.
