Shubman Gill Creates History Shatred Multiple Records India captain Shubman Gill continued his great form in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and scored the fourth century of the series. Gill stepped on the field in the second innings after two wickets of the team fell on zero and were dismissed by playing 103 runs and made several records together.

Gill became the highest run -scorer for India in the Test series against England, leaving behind Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi scored 712 runs against England at home ground.

The record of scoring the most runs in the Test series for India is the name of Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 774 runs against the West Indies in 1970/71 and with the remaining one Test, Gill has a good chance to leave him behind.

Gill also broke Virat Kohli’s record of scoring the most runs as captain in England. Kohli scored 655 runs in the 2016 home series and Gill improved this record by scoring runs abroad.

Gill also made it to the special list of captains who scored 700+ runs in the Test series. He became the eighth captain to do so after Don Bradman, Garfield Sobers, Greg Chapel, Sunil Gavaskar, David Gover, Graham Gooch and Grem Smith.

Shubman Gill also made it to the list of Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar, who scored the most centuries as captain in the Test series.

India captain Shubman Gill scored the 9th Test century of his career on the last day of the fourth Test between India and England in Manchester on Sunday. This was his fourth century in this series and he has become the third captain to score 4 centuries in a series after Donald Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar.

Gill became the first player to score 1200 runs in international cricket this year. He has also scored six centuries in 2025 – which is the highest by any player. This was Gill’s ninth century in WTC and he made it to the list of Indians who scored the most centuries in WTC.
