Sarvesh Kushare finished sixth in the World Athletics Championship high jump final by putting a personal best jump of 2.28 meters, Hamish Kerr won the gold medal.

Tokyo Sarvesh Kushare of India finished sixth with a jump of 2.28 meters, performing his personal best in the final of the high jump event of the World Athletics Championship on Tuesday. The first Indian 30 -year -old Sarvesh, the first Indian to qualify for the high jump event of the World Athletics Championship, jumped 2.28 meters in the third attempt in the final and left behind his best performance of 2.27 meters which he did in 2022.
He missed in an attempt of 2.31 meters and could not even break the national record of 2.29 meters made by Tejaswin Shankar in 2018. After touching the 28 meter figure, Naib Subedar Kusare, who lives in Nashik, looked at the audience and said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Jai.”
