Congress leader and former Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid said in Jakarta on Friday that India is not Pakistan, but a bigger and strong country which has a big role in the world.
He said that India did what was necessary to teach Pakistan a lesson, but then we stopped because India neither wants to occupy the land of Pakistan nor ruin it. We just want to protect our safety and sovereignty.
Khurshid said that the honor that India has received in the world is not just because of its strength, but also because India showed confidence in its strength and kept restraint.
He said that if we had carried forward the fight further, would we get such respect in Indonesia? India wants to lead, and when we think so, we cannot bring ourselves to Pakistan level.
He said that we want India not to be associated with Pakistan, but should be seen as a separate identity. Our shared culture, the tradition of living together and celebrating life as a celebration is our real beauty. We are patriots, we believe in humanity, and we love our country because India is our mother for us.
Pakistan took the initiative for ceasefire, India not
Khurshid made it clear that during Operation Sindoor, India stopped the attack after Pakistan’s call and did not take any further action. He described the claim as “completely nonsense” that India had earlier called.
He said, ‘Why would we call first? The call happened when the situation towards Pakistan had deteriorated. It is clear that the call came from Pakistan’s DGMO. We stopped only when they said to stop, and then we did not attack any further.
Salman Khurshid Operation Sindoor and India’s stance against Pakistan sponsored terrorism are part of the 7 delegation to explain the world. Khurshid is involved in a delegation led by JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha.
Apart from them, Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Brij Lala (BJP), John Britas (CPIM), Din Barua (BJP), Hemung Joshi (BJP) and former India Ambassador to France Mohan Kumar Mohan Kumar are involved in delegation. Delegation has so far visited Japan, South Korea and Singapore and is currently in Indonesia.
Khurshid said- We cannot fall at Pakistan level
Addressing the Indian community in Jakarta, Khurshid said that India does not want to occupy the land of Pakistan nor waste it. He said that India only wants to save and protect itself. We are not Pakistan, we are bigger than that. We have a big role globally and we cannot drop ourselves to Pakistan levels.
Referring to India’s action on terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK during Operation Sindoor, he said that people ask why we stopped, why not move forward? We have to understand that India’s thinking is not limited to just showing strength. If we had carried forward the fight, would we get so much respect in Indonesia? Along with our strength, we also got respect for the confidence that we showed.
Salman Khurshid insisted that India’s policy is self -defense, not attacks, and this gives India respect on the global stage. He appealed to Pakistan to quit terrorism and said that India’s message is clear. This is the common message of the whole country, not from any one party.
What is operation vermilion?
On 22 April, there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. 26 tourists were killed by the terrorists. On 7 May, India had a airplane at Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan. The army killed 100 terrorists. The ceasefire was agreed between the two countries from 5 pm on 10 May.
After this, the government has sent 7 all-party delegation abroad to inform the world about Pakistan’s terror and India’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy. These teams are favoring India in many countries of America, Europe, Gulf country, Africa and Asia.
