Salabhasana ke fayde: Shalabhasana is a posture that provides many benefits to both body and mind. It helps reduce the pain of sciatica and lower back, reduce excess fat in thighs and buttocks and to increase digestive power along with lung function, which eventually increases complete health and vitality.
Shalabhasana also benefits abdominal organs and helps digestion. In addition, this asana also helps in increasing the functionality of the lungs. It should be done with caution if there is more pain in the lower back.
The right way to do Shalabhasana
To do Shalabhasana, first of all lie down on the ground. Spread your hands forward, the palms are upwards and the legs are straight. The forehead or chin is touching the ground. Take a deep breath and stabilize the body. While exhaling, raise both legs together slowly. Keep the feet straight and do not bend the knees. Along with this, the hands have to be raised upwards. This is like some superman pose. In this situation, stop for 10-30 seconds, keep breathing normally. After this, slowly bring the feet and chest to the ground and rest.
Benefits of Shalabhasana
Strengthens back muscles. Gives the spinal cord flexibility. Effects the digestive system and kidney. Reduces stress and fatigue.
It is also necessary to take some precautions while doing this asana. People with pregnancy, hernia, or back/neck injury do not do it. Hypertension or heart patients do it on the advice of a yoga specialist. Do the posture slowly and according to the body’s capacity. Do this yoga only after consulting a trainer.
