Ricky Rai was returning to Bangalore with a driver and gunman in his car.
Ricky Rai, son of former underworld don Muthappa Rai, was attacked late Friday in Biddi area near Bengaluru. According to the police, Ricky Rai was returning to Bangalore with the driver and gunman in his car.
Around 1:30 pm, just 200 meters from his house, an unknown assailant fired two rounds. Both were admitted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where doctors said that both were out of danger.
According to police sources, Ricky recently returned from Russia and was solving family matters. One of the major reasons for the attack is being considered a dispute with a real estate businessman. Ricky’s driver has raised suspicion on a builder and Ricky’s first wife.
Ricky Rai is the son of former underworld don Muthappa Rai. Muthappa’s D is also related to the company.
Case filed under Attempt to Murder and Arms Act
An old enemy of Muthappa Rai is also under investigation. A case has been registered at Biddi Police Station under Attempt to Murder and Arms Act. Police said that several angles are under investigation behind the attack.
Planning of the attack was very accurate
Ricky Rai at around 1:30 pm, just 200 meters away from his house, an unknown assailant fired two rounds. A bullet reached Ricky via the driver’s seat, causing injuries to his hand and nose, while the driver had a minor wound in his back.
Initial police investigation revealed that the attacker was already hidden behind a cement wall. He fired from a large hole made in the wall. The police suspect that the shot gun was used, although forensic investigation is yet to be confirmed. Crime scenes and forensic teams have gathered evidence from the spot. The police did not even say whether Ricky’s gunman retaliated or not.

Police suspect the involvement of Insider in this attack. It is believed that the attacker already had accurate information about Ricky’s movement.
