Bengaluru Many claims are being made about the stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Somebody is saying that there was a place for only 35000 people, while a crowd of millions reached. Now another theory is coming out that the rumors of free tickets near Gate 7 of Chinnaswamy Stadium caused chaos during RCB’s IPL victory and this place turned into a trap of death.
The huge crowd already gathered to celebrate the celebrations moved towards the gate, causing panic, injuries and deaths. Despite the police urging fans to use other routes, chaos spread. According to TOI, the maximum crowd was seen on Gate 7 along the main entrance of the team, in which many people were injured.
A stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium took place when thousands of fans were trying to enter the stadium in a hurry from various gates. The police present on the spot took the injured persons to the ambulance and admitted them to a nearby Bouring and Vaidehi Hospital. Police said that the ambulance could not reach the hospital quickly due to congestion on the roads.
Regarding this incident, the Karnataka government has said that at least 11 people have died and 33 people have been injured in a stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased and has also ordered a magistrate inquiry.
The honor ceremony was organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association in which a large number of fans were gathered to attend. RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in the IPL final in Ahmedabad on June 3 to win its first title in 18 years.
