The experienced spinner has allegedly expressed a desire to leave the franchise. This has been confirmed according to the cricbing. Ashwin’s performance was not good in the 2025 IPL season.
The report also stated that CSK captain Rituraj Gaikwad and former captain MS Dhoni have been discussing the team’s plans in Chennai for the last few days. It is also not clear whether Ashwin will be traded in another team or will be released for auction.
He has been only one year in his home team. Ashwin returned to CSK after a decade with an amount of Rs 9.75 crore. However, he could not live up to expectations. He performed at an average of 40.43 with seven wickets in nine matches. He also faced criticism for lack of impact.
According to other reports, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson has also expressed his desire to leave the franchise, due to some differences. Samson is looking for a new beginning and CSK is probably preparing to include him in his team. However, RR has expressed his desire for two players from CSK.
