The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition related to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. In this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was demanded to give instructions against Savarkar to set a negative and stop the misuse of his name.
A bench of CJI BR Gawai and Justice Augustine George Christ heard the case. The bench said- No fundamental right of the petitioner has been violated and hence the court cannot intervene.
The petition was filed by Dr. Pankaj Fadnis, who were present in the court. In fact, he had demanded Rahul Gandhi to do community service as a punishment for commenting against Savarkar.
He had said in his petition that Rahul Gandhi has a habit of making irresponsible, immature and derogatory remarks about Veer Savarkar.
When Rahul was found guilty in a defamation case filed against him to comment on Savarkar, he should do community service in the Savarkar Museum in Mumbai for a day as a sentence.

Petitioner: I have been doing research on Savarkar for years. I want to tell some facts about Savarkar. I request the court to direct Rahul Gandhi to include Savarkar’s name and symbol (prevention of unfair use) Act, 1950.
CJI: What is a violation of your fundamental right in this? We cannot consider such petitions. We did not get any basis for intervention. Relief sought cannot be given. The petition is dismissed.
Petitioner: The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi cannot violate the fundamental duties (Article 51A, fundamental duties), he cannot obstruct my fundamental duties.
CJI: We will not interfere in this matter. The petition of Article 32 can only be considered for violation of fundamental rights.
Rahul showed Savarkar’s letter to the British

On November 17, 2022, Rahul showed a letter written by Savarkar in Akola, Maharashtra.
In fact, Rahul Gandhi commented on Savarkar at a rally during the Bharat Jigo Yatra on November 17, 2022 in Akola district of Maharashtra. He had shown a letter in front of the media that this letter was written by Savarkar to the British. In this, he had spoken of being the servant of the British. Also apologized for fear. Gandhi-Nehru did not do this, so he remained in jail for years.
Rahul said, ‘Gandhi, Nehru and Patel stayed in jail for years and did not sign any letter. Savarkar ji signed on this paper, the reason was fear. If you are not afraid, never sign. When Savarkar signed, Gandhi, Patel of India was cheated. They also asked those people to sign Gandhi and Patel.
