Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be on a tour of Karnataka on Tuesday. During a program in Hospet city here, 1 lakh 11 thousand people will be handed over digital documents of home ownership. The program is taking place on the occasion of the completion of two years of the Congress government in the state.
Documents will be given to nomadic, semi-ghumantu and rural agricultural communities. Their settlements are on public or private land. Now they will get the status of ‘Revenue Village’ i.e. Revenue Village. This will give these people legally the ownership of their home.
During the 2015 tour of Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi promised that these settlements would get ownership. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, CM Siddaramaiah and Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala will also attend the program.
The Congress government was formed in Karnataka with winning 135 out of 224 seats. The picture is of the swearing -in ceremony of May 20, 2023.
Revenue Minister said- more than 1 lakh people got benefit from 2023 Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda in the Government of Karnataka said- This is India’s largest title deed (land or legal document of house ownership) distribution program. About 6 lakh people will get the benefit. In the program, Congress will be dedicated to 2 years of work of government to people. We are moving forward with new resolutions for the future.
He informed- Around 36,000 title deeds were released from 2017 to 2019. 72,000 documents were given from 2019 to 2023. In two years since 2023, the Congress government has given the ownership of the house to more than 1 lakh families. Documents will also be given to the remaining 50,000 people in the next 6 months.
Every family will get digital khatauni Krishna Byre Gowda said about the digital document- now the title deeds are getting in digital format. This will not cause problems of losing the document, bursting or fraud. The government is directly linking every document to the online property register of the Gram Panchayat. That is, every family will now get digital Khatauni (account), so that no one will be able to evict them easily from the land or house.
The minister said that out of the 1.2 lakh title deeds issued between 2017 and 2023, only 5,000 were included in the Gram Panchayat records. The rest of the people continued to be victims of exploitation at the local level. Now under the new digital system, every document will be directly added to the register.
