Pooja Khedkar’s investigation revealed that she used fake documents to get selection in UPSC.
Trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, surrounded in controversies, was granted anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. During the hearing, the court said- cooperate in the investigation, otherwise it will take strict decisions. Earlier, SC had banned Pooja’s arrest till 21 May.
The bench of Justice BV Nagaratna and Satish Chandra Sharma heard Pooja’s anticipatory bail plea. Delhi Police reprimanded for a slow investigation into the case and directed to complete the investigation as soon as possible.
Pooja Khedkar is accused of cheating on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination to take reservation from other Backward Classes (OBC) and disabled quota.
The Supreme Court had said- the case is not being taken seriously The Supreme Court had said that nothing concrete has been revealed in the investigation so far. It seems that the case is not being taken seriously.
The apex court questioned Delhi Police as to why Pooja has not been questioned till now? In response, the police said that there is no cooperation from Pooja for questioning. However, Pooja’s lawyer denied the police claim that she was available for investigation, but she was not called for questioning.
Supreme Court overturned the order of Delhi High Court The Supreme Court had overturned the Delhi High Court’s order of 23 December 2024. Senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for Pooja, said that there are some such comments in the High Court order which may be used against Pooja when the trial starts. On this, the bench issued a notice to the UPSC and the Delhi government.
The Delhi High Court made strict remarks, dismissing Pooja’s anticipatory bail plea. The court had said that it is not only fraud with a constitutional body but also with society and the whole country. The High Court had admitted that Pooja’s parents were in big positions. This indicates the possibility of collusion with influential persons.
Earlier, Delhi’s Patiala House Court rejected Pooja’s anticipatory bail plea on 1 August 2024. After this, Pooja reached the Delhi High Court.

During her posting, Pooja had a fine of 26 thousand rupees on the Audi car on which the red-blue light and the Maharashtra government used to roam.
Pooja was training a trainee officer in Pune. During this, he was accused of seeking facilities. A complaint was also reported that a senior officer captured the chamber. He installed a red light and a plate of ‘Maharashtra government’ in his private Audi car.
Pune’s District Collector Suhas Diwase had complained against Pooja, after which he was transferred. After this, when the case was investigated, it was found that he used fake documents to get selection in UPSC. When the investigation went ahead, there were many shocking revelations.
4 controversies related to disability certificate
- Pooja Khedkar’s address ‘plot number 53, Dehu Aladi Road, Talavade, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune’ were written in the disability certificate. While there is no home on this address, there is a factory named Thermovarta Engineering Company. Pooja’s Audi which was seized was a register in the name of this company.
- Under government rules, Aadhaar card is mandatory for making disability certificate, but ration card was installed in the certificate of worship.
- Several disability certificates of worship came to light after checking the selection in UPSC from handicapped quota. Pooja handed over 2 separate certificates issued from Ahmednagar District Civil Hospital to UPSC in 2018 and 2021.
- Pooja took several appointments for medical examination in Delhi to confirm her disability certificate, but later submitted a private hospital report to UPSC.
- Yashwant Rao Chavan Memorial Hospital made it clear that there was no mistake in making a locomometer certificate of Pooja. In the certificate, Pooja was described as 7% locomometer disability. The hospital operates Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
- Pooja claimed in an affidavit to UPSC that she is mentally disabled and also has difficulty in seeing. Pooja had refused to give a medical test 6 times, while it is necessary to give medical tests.
- According to several media reports, Pooja’s first medical test was scheduled in Delhi AIIMS in April 2022. He refused to join it, citing Kovid being positive.
Pooja also accused of taking advantage of OBC quota Pooja is also accused of taking advantage of OBC non-reviewer quota by hiding the information of parents’ marital status. Pooja’s father Dilip Khedkar is a retired IAS officer. He also contested the election.
In the electoral affidavits, she stated her assets of Rs 40 crore, while Pooja had described the family’s assets less than 8 lakh in the affidavid given to UPSC.
A video of Pooja also went viral, in which she is claiming the divorce of parents. Pooja claimed that her father does not live with her, so she comes under the purview of OBC non-slayer layer.
