Rajoana wrote in the letter that Dr. Manmohan Singh represented the political party during his tenure, which he has held the Sikhs responsible for atrocities. He alleged that the Congress party, whose Manmohan Singh, was the Prime Minister, is responsible for the 1984 anti -Sikh riots. In such a situation, it is unfair and unacceptable to put his picture in the museum representing the martyrdom and pride of Sikhs.
Rajoana said- Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of the party who is guilty of Sikh slaughter. There is no justification for putting his portrait in the Sikh museum.

Rajoana is lodged in Patiala jail
Significantly, Balwant Singh Rajoana has been convicted in 1995 in the murder of the then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and is currently serving a sentence in Patiala Jail. His letter raises serious questions in front of SGPC as to which people should be given place in Sikh institutions and who are not.
SGPC did not respond
At present, there is no official response to this letter from SGPC. However, this issue has been hot in religious and political circles. The debate within the Sikh community has intensified whether a leader like Dr. Manmohan Singh, who served as the Prime Minister of the country, deserve to be a place in the Sikh museum. Some Sikh leaders are in favor of Balwant Singh Rajoana, while some are seen in favor of putting the picture of Dr. Manmohan Singh.
