Dragon Boat Race Winner Komal Arwal: Komal Kumari, who lives in Karpi block of Arwal, is illuminating the name of the country by performing brilliantly in the dragon boat race. She has recently returned from China after winning the medal. His story is very inspiring. Due to lack of facilities in the district, they are winning the medal by practicing in the village river.

Along with tender studies from Dehi village of Karpi block of Arwal district, he was also interested in sports. He had a tendency towards sports since school time. When I grew up a little, Rugby started playing. It also won gold at the national level but his floor boat was racing.

In a tournament, he saw the dragon boat race, from there, Komal also woke up in the mind of boat racing. The village flows the Punpun River. Everyday he used to go there and start driving someone else’s boat. Seeing the trend towards racing, the father built his own boat. After this, the soft hours started practicing to run a boat in the river.

In 2020, Komal was called by Bihar Dragon Boat Association at Motihari Camp. After three months of training here, he was selected for the national team. He won three gold medals at the national level.

Represented India at the Thailand World Championship in 2023. However, he did not get a medal there. But instead of giving up, Komal returned to the village and started practicing again in the Punpun River. In 2024, he was selected for the Asian Dragon Boat Championship. After this, he created history by winning the bronze medal in the 500 meter and 200 meter race in Hong Kong, China.

The state government gave Komal three times incentive and honored. Komal’s hard work and dedication proved that no shortage in front of true dedication matters. Komal is going to be 19 years old soon. After this, they will also get a government job from the state government under the Medal Lao Job Pao. Komal says that I will continue to improve my game.

Komal’s father Laldev Singh is a landless laborer but never stopped his daughter’s flight. They continue to support their daughter. Komal is his fourth daughter.

Currently, Komal went under training at boating in Gorakhpur. Apart from this, she is doing a college graduation in the district itself. This journey of Komal started from Punpun River and has reached Hong Kong till now.
