The last meeting of CCS was held on 30 April.
The meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security Affairs (CCS) is going on at the Prime Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval are present in this meeting.
After the success of Operation Sindoor, PM Modi has called a CCS meeting for the first time, it is believed that the security operations under Operation Sindoor are being reviewed in this meeting. This will also be followed by a meeting of the Union Cabinet.
In the last cabinet meeting (7 May), PM Modi congratulated the three forces for Operation Sindoor. In this operation, the Indian Air Force destroyed 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan and POK. Earlier, the caste census was decided in the cabinet meeting held on 30 April. It will be done with the original census.
Rahul Gandhi said- Government should tell the deadline of ethnic census
After the announcement of caste census, Rahul Gandhi said- After all, the government has spoken about caste census. We support it, but the government has to tell its deadline. We got the cast senses in Telangana, it can be made a model. We have to go beyond cast census. Which caste has to know how much stake is in high positions.
Socio-economic calculation was done in 2011, data not released
The socio-economic and caste census was conducted in 2011 during the Manmohan Singh government. It was done by the Ministry of Rural Development, Urban Development Ministry and Ministry of Home Affairs. However, the data of this survey was never made public. The data of its SC-ST Household has been released on the website of the Ministry of Rural Development.

Shah had said- census can take place in 2025
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in August 2024 that the census would be on “appropriate time”, and it could begin in 2025, with the data published by 2026.

Decisions of April 9 cabinet meeting- ₹ 1332 crore railway project sanctioned in Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh
Several important projects were approved on 9 April at the Union Cabinet meeting. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed that a 104 km single railway line from Tirupati to Katapadi in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will be converted into double line.
It will cost around Rs 1332 crore. With this, with the increase in connectivity to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, other major sites like Shri Kalahasti Shiva Temple, Kanipakam Vinayak Temple, Chandragiri Fort etc. will also be able to get railway connectivity.
