Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Croatia from Canada. They will reach Croatia on a 2 -day journey on Wednesday evening. This is the last stop of the PM’s 5 -day journey in 3 countries. For the first time an Indian Prime Minister is traveling to Croatia.
During this time, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with Croatia Prime Minister Andrez Plankovic and also meet President Joron Milanovich.
The journey is being considered an important step towards strengthening relations between India and Croatia as well as further strengthening India’s partnership with European Union countries. PM Modi’s visit is an indication that India wants to further its relationship with Europe.
On the first day of the PM’s visit on Sunday, he arrived on a two -day tour of Cyprus. PM went to Canada to participate in the G7 Summit from here on Monday. Where he attended the conference on Tuesday.
Croatia was separated in 1991 by revolt
Croatia officially announced its independence from Yugoslavia on 25 June 1991. Earlier, the country was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, including a total of six republics.
In 1990, a multi -party elections were held in Croatia and the party of nationalist leader Franzo Tuzaman came to power.
