Chandan Singh, a high-tech farmer of Satna, told in a conversation with Local 18 that he has planted a Palsa tree in his garden, whose pen he had ordered from South Africa. Today this fruit has made a special identity among people not only taste but also due to medicinal properties.

Fruit rich in medicinal properties
In Baghelkhand, Phalsa is also called natural physician. Because it contains vitamin C, antioxidants and many minerals. It strengthens digestion, controls blood pressure and cholesterol and works to give energy to the body. It contains elements like calcium, phosphorus, potassium and iron, which are very important for proper development of the body. This is the reason that many people of Baghelkhand have now started planting it in their home and garden and also use its medicinal properties.

Farming technology and production

Chandan said that most of the Phalsa is grown with grafting technology. The special thing is that the plant is ready in two years and by the age of five, at least 3 to 4 kg of fruits start getting from every tree. Due to good yields in low time and low cost, the trend of farmers is also increasing rapidly towards Phalsa cultivation.

International demand demand
Although its origin is believed to be from South Africa, Phalsa is being cultivated on a large scale in countries like India, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia today. In the international market, its demand is continuously increasing, due to which farmers can also get export opportunities.

In the cultivation of Phalsa, water and fertilizer are very less and after applying it, it keeps giving fruits for a long time. This is the reason that in the entire state including Satna, now the garden of Phalsa has started to decorate. Farmers believe that this fruit can make them rich in both farming and business in future.
