New Delhi: Rajesh Khanna is often called the first superstar of Hindi cinema. He was lovingly called ‘Kaka’ and he had a big fan following among his female fans. His popularity was so much that once in 1969, he had created a crowd -like situation at the premiere of his film ‘Do Rasta’, in which he was seen with Mumtaz.

According to Bollywood wedding, a fan page ‘Rajesh Khanna- The King of Superstardam’ dedicated to Rajesh Khanna shared an interview of veteran actor Govardhan Asrani, in which he recalled the enthusiasm created by Khanna at the premiere of two-way. Asrani remembered how all the 8 manufacturers of the United Producers Council Raj Khosla, J Om Prakash, FC Mehra, Mohan Sehgal, Nasir Hussain, Shakti Samanta, Pramod Chakraborty and Hemant Kumar were ready to welcome Magastar. But the way the Amar Prem actor entered the scene, he mesmerized everyone including Asrani.

The report said that Asrani told a media portal, ‘The crowd was growing outside and the whole house was filled inside. When they arrived, there was chaos and as if God had come. Filmmakers wearing suits were sidelined. The crowd entered the theater from the roads. In the same interview, Asrani talked about Rajesh Khanna’s sentence, which was with his contemporaries like Amitabh Bachchan. Asrani worked in many successful films with Khanna. The superstar died on July 18, 2012 after battling a liver infection.
