Reconstructive Surgery Mission for Burn Cases in AIIMS: The Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery of AIIMS is no less than a blessing for the patients burnt by fire or acid, but now this department has been involved in the mission to give back the lost smile and courage of the burn patients even one step ahead of treatment. Recovering surgery of 51 patients burnt with fire or acid is being done in the next 10 days in the hospital. In which AIIMS doctors are supporting the American organization Rotaplast, who has completed surgical missions for 260 burn patients in 26 countries of the world.

Driving this entire mission Dr. Manish Singhal, Head of Burn and Plastic Surgery Department Told that these surgery, which re -normalizes the organs of the burnt patients in AIIMS, will carry out the AIIMS doctors, nurses and para staff as well as a team of 11 experts from the US Rotaplast. Apart from the US, this team also has experts from the UK, the Philippines and the Netherlands. 110 patients have been registered for this mission, out of which 51 will be given surgery while non -surgical treatment will be given to the remaining patients.

Dr. Singhal said that every year 60 to 70 lakh people in India are victims of fire, acid or some other kind of burning. Although about 20 percent of these patients need to be hospitalized, 80 percent of them get complications related to burning. The purpose of this mission is to provide free plastic surgery to poor patients, who are troubled by problems like burning stains and limbs and lose their confidence and smile.

A team of 80 people ready
Dr. Manish said that a team of about 80 people of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from AIIMS has been prepared for this mission. Which will perform separate surgery by dividing in three parts. In this mission, only burn reconditive surgery (surgery to improve organs after burning) will be noted. By now about 110 patients have been registered, out of which 40% of the patients are beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABPMJAY). At the same time, Rotary Club Delhi is also supporting in this mission.

Thousands of burn patients come to AIIMS every year
AIIMS Medical Superstitious Dr. Nirupam Madan Told that AIIMS New Delhi is recognized as the Center of Excellence in the treatment of Burns (burning injury). The Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery here offers OPD services to about 10,000 patients every year, recruit more than 2,000 patients and gives 24 × 7 emergency services. The hospital has 65 beds including 20 ICU beds. Also, patients are given overall treatment with the help of dietician, physiotherapist and psychologist.

Doctors and nursing staff will be trend with treatment
In this mission, along with the treatment of doctors burnt patients, an academic clinic will also be conducted for students of plastic surgery, anesthesia and nursing. Dr. Singhal said that these trend doctors will not only treat AIIMS but will also provide better services in other places in future.

During this time Dr. Sangeeta Seshadri from Rotaplast Said that Rotaplast International is an American non-profit organization, which has done more than 260 surgical missions in 26 countries since 1993. They mainly treat problems like flaft lip (chopped lips), palettes and burning stains.

Right there District Governor Ajit Jalan from Rotary Club International Told that this mission is being done with Delhi AIIMS right now, this mission will be further transported to All India Aryuology Institutes located in other hospitals or other states, so that more and more patients can get its benefits.
