New Delhi. Bollywood’s brilliant actor Pankaj Tripathi is recently seen in ‘Criminal Justice: A Family Matter’. Pankaj Tripathi, one of the best actors in the industry, took a break from the industry last year. The veteran actor recently revealed that he took a year break and did not sign a single film last year. This break was taken deliberately. The actor also said that he had not announced his brake on social media but went out on a journey of introspection.
Talking to Hollywood Reporter India, Pankaj Tripathi said, ‘After my father’s death, I went out on a journey of introspection. I did not sign a film for a year, and I did not announce that I am taking a break. He further said, “I took time to work on myself and to recover physically and mentally. So I have lost weight. I do six days, three hours of workouts a week. I also went on the trips that I had been avoiding for a long time.” He took this break to improve his mind and body. He did not tell anyone, quietly made this decision and spent time with himself.
Last year, Pankaj did just a few small things – such as ad shoots and ‘metro… these days’ did a little patchwork. He says that he deliberately distanced the media and did not read new scripts. Pankaj Tripathi says about this, “I kept telling everyone that I don’t have time, while I was just spending time with myself,”
No longer work for money
Pankaj says, “Now I don’t work for money. I want a project that felt good at heart. Earlier I used to wait for the shoot to end, but then thought – why do I feel like this if I love this profession?”

Library opened in memory of father
Recalling his father, Pankaj recently dedicated the National Award to him. After the father’s death, the actor was badly broken and he also opened a library in his village school. The actor dedicated this library to his father.
Now Pankaj Tripathi will soon be seen in ‘Metro… these days’, which will be released on 2 July 2025. In this film, he will also be accompanied by many big stars like Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher.
