Initial investigation has revealed that Natnadas attacked his wife several times after a quarrel on Monday.
In Navi Mumbai, a Pakistani citizen committed suicide by killing his wife with a knife in a domestic dispute. The deceased have been identified as Natanadas alias Sanjay Sachdev (45) and his wife Sapna Natanadas (35). Both came to India in November 2024 and were living on long -term visas.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Prashant Mohite said on Tuesday, ‘When Sapna’s sister reached her flat on Monday, both of them were found soaked in blood. Doctors declared Sapna dead on the spot, while Natanadas died during treatment.
Investigation revealed that Natnadas made several blows on Sapna with a kitchen knife after a quarrel and then injured himself. Both were living in this flat with two children for the last 6 months. The police have registered a case under Section 103 (1) of the Code of India Justice (BNS).
Mumbai Police confused about children’s custody
The Pakistani couple have two children. After the death of the husband and wife, the Mumbai Police is confused about the custody of the children. The police have expressed concern about the future of children. Police say that their care is being arranged. Negotiations with the authorities concerned are also going on in matters related to their custody. At the same time, investigation related to the couple’s visa and identity is also being done.
Pakistani with long -term visa can live in India
After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Central Government issued a notice to the 12 -categories of short -term visas of Pakistan citizens to leave the country. After which all Pakistani citizens returned by 30 April. However, the Ministry of External Affairs has clarified that the long term visas (LTVs) given to Hindu Pakistani citizens will not be affected by this. Because of this, both the couple were living in India.
