Pakistan Asia Cup Team Announce: Pakistan team announced for Asia Cup, Babar Azam and Rizwan out

New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board took a big step on Sunday 17 August. The board has dropped senior players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan out of the team for the next month’s Asia Cup. Both have been struggling with poor form for a long time. This decision of PCB indicates the end of both T20 career.

Babar Azam last played a T20 series against South Africa in December. He scored zero in one match and 31 runs in the other. This series was also the last T20 series of Rizwan. In which he scored 74 runs in a match. After this, both were dropped from Pakistan’s next T20 series. Since then, Pakistan has played 14 T20 matches, including Babur and Rizwan. After being out of the Asia Cup team, his T20 career seems to end.

Salman Ali Aga has also been made the captain for the upcoming tri -series against the Asia Cup and Afghanistan and UAE. Veteran ODI batsman Fakhar Zaman has also been included in the team. Mohammad Haris has been selected as a wicketkeeper. Significantly, Mohammad Wasim has also been included in the team. Major fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the bowling attack. Nasim Shah has also been dropped from the team. In the 2023 Asia Cup, Pakistan lost two of their three super 4 matches and could not qualify for the final. In 2022, Pakistan was runner -up against Sri Lanka.
