Kiran Pandey, a housewife from Bageshwar, says that you need to make black sesame laddus – 1 cup black sesame, 1 cup grated jaggery, 2 tablespoons desi ghee and 2 to 3 teaspoons of water. First fry the black sesame seeds lightly on low heat and grind coarsely when cooled. Then put water in a pan and melt jaggery, add desi ghee to it. When the jaggery melts well and the syrup becomes thick, add roasted sesame and mix well. When the mixture cools down, make small laddus by hand.

These laddus can be tasty and stored for a long time. Eating one laddus in the morning or evening keeps energy in the body throughout the day. These laddus have a special place in the traditional catering of Uttarakhand. Especially in Sankranti, Lohri and Magh month, their consumption is considered auspicious.
