Agriculture News: Paddy and protein -rich paddy -rich paddy developed by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur is now becoming a medium of health, not only food.

Raipur. Chhattisgarh is not called the ‘paddy bowl’ of the country. The Urvara land and hard work of scientists here have not limited the state only to the varieties of paddy, but now such paddy is also being developed, which are also very beneficial for health. Dr. Abhinav Saw, the Chief Scientist of the Department of Genetic and Plant Breeding of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Raipur, said that the university has not only prepared bumper production and aromatic varieties, but has now also developed varieties in which nutrients are present in plenty.

According to Dr. Saw, the university has recently developed three major varieties of zinc rich paddy which includes Chhattisgarh Zinc Rice 1, Chhattisgarh Zinc Rice 2 and Zinc Rice MS. These varieties have a quantity of zinc up to 24 ppm, which is considered a good ratio. Zinc acts as immunity boosters in our body and plays an important role in preventing diarrhea, especially in children, pregnancy period of women and infectious diseases. If zinc is obtained through rice in our everyday food, then it will be very beneficial for health.

Additionally, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University has also prepared a specific variety called protagin, which has more than 10 to 11 percent protein than normal paddy. Generally, rice contains only up to 6 percent protein. Zinc is also present in this variety, which makes it a complete nutritious rice. At the same time, a variety called CR Paddy 302 developed from Cuttack is also zinc and it is considered useful for Chhattisgarh.

In this episode, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University has developed another very special variety called Sanjeevani, in which immuno-booster properties have been found. This variety can be extremely beneficial for those whose body is weak in fighting diseases. The special thing is that clinical trials are being run on cancer patients with the help of Bhabha Atomic Research Center on this variety, so that its medicinal importance can also be ascertained.

In Chhattisgarh, paddy is not only a means of filling the stomach, now it is also becoming a means of nutrition and health. This initiative of agricultural scientists of the state will definitely prove to be helpful in fighting malnutrition, infection and serious diseases in the coming time. It is considered a revolutionary step in the field of agriculture and health.
