For the second time in three weeks, a javelin throwing player Neeraj Chopra, while undergoing inferiority of his friendship with Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, said that Arshad Nadeem, who won the Olympic gold medal in Paris last year, defeated him. Speaking at a press conference before Doha Diamond League, Chopra said that he never had a strong relationship with Nadeem. I will just talk to me with respect, I will do the same to him.

27-year-old Neeraj Chopra said, “I want to clarify that I (with Nadeem) not a very strong relationship. As athlete, we have to talk to each other and there are some good friends in the athletics community around the world. There is no one to throw a spear. If someone talks respectfully, if someone gives respect to me, then I was never a close answer. It will not be the same as before.

Chopra’s remarks came after an increased military tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam last month. Chopra invited Nadeem to Neeraj Chopra Classic to be held in Bengaluru on 24 May. Due to which he also had to face online abuses.

The two Asian stars are not expected to face face to face soon, Chopra is set to compete in Poland on 23 May in Poland, while Nadeem will be in action at the Asian Championships in Gumi, South Korea from 27-31 May.
